Question: How do I become a Sufi and find a Murshid (spiritual guide)?
Reply:-
Peace, mercy and blessings of Allah Almighty be upon you. Thank you for contacting our blessed site. I ask Allah Almighty, the Most High, to grant you success, guide you to the truth and expand your heart to what He loves and is pleased with, and does not make you confused about the matter, for He is the most generous and gracious.
A Muslim should cherish the Islamic ways that adhere to the words of the Mighty Book and the Purified Sunnah without mentioning names, and we do not choose a name for us except that which God Almighty chose for us (Muslims).
The Murshid (guide) is the one who knows the Book of God Almighty and the Sunnah of His Prophet, (May God bless him, his family and his companions) and he who applies and practices both of them in his life. He has reached the position of benevolence (Ihsan) with a chain of transmission (sanad). Which means he has a scientific and spiritual connection to our Master, the Messenger of Allah, (Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him, his family and his honorable companions).
Detailed Answer:-
To begin, we cherish all Islamic ways and methods that adhere to the words of the Noble Qur’an and the honorable Sunnah without mentioning names. We should not distinguish ourselves by naming other than what our Lord, the Majestic and Most High, chose for us when He said in His Noble Book:
{-the religion of your father Abraham, he named you ‘the ones who submit’ (Muslims) before -} [Al-Hajj: 78].
Allah Almighty said:
{And whose words are better than someone who; calls others to Allah, does good, and says, “I am truly one of those who submit (Muslims)” ?} [Surat Fussilat: 33].
I do not know if your honor is aware of the Islamic spiritual work and the impact of having relations with the Murshid (spiritual guide), may Allah be pleased with him and you, for the lives of Muslims?
I hope that every Muslim man and woman should consolidate these concepts in them, by reading more about the topics of remembrance (dhikr), behavior (sulook) and purification of the soul (tazkiya) on this blessed site, in order to reach complete conviction.
Thereafter, strive to seek a path to obtain the blessings and light of spiritual connection with a spiritual guide with scientific and spiritual link to the Greatest Messenger (May Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him, his family and companions); Then your spiritual ascension begins in the gardens of remembrance in the presence of Allah the Exalted, in His blessings, so that your soul will be calm and purified, and that your heart be steadfast and reassured.
Allah, Exalted is His Power, said:
{Those who believe and whose hearts are assured in the remembrance of Allah, indeed by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured} [Al-Ra’d: 28].
If a Muslim adheres to the remembrance of Allah (dhikr), he feels overjoyed, and witnesses a blessing in wealth, time and family. That is because he came onto the straight path, and he knew the purpose of his existence by knowing his Great Lord. He bestowed upon His Noble Messenger upon him, his family, and companions the best prayer and peace by saying:
{—And Allah sent down to you the Book and the Wisdom, and taught you that which you did not know, and the grace of God was great upon you } [An-Nisa: 113].
And His Majesty said:
{And whoever turns away from My remembrance, he will have a hard life, and We will raise him blind on the Day of Resurrection} [Taha: 124].
In the shadows of the blessed verse and through the divergent meaning, we understand that the adherence to dhikr and the people of dhikr creates a life of happiness, blessedness and of great value. Allah Almighty will open your heart and give you the energy of insight to see everything that is true and beautiful in this wonderful universe.
Allah, blessed is His name, knows best.
May Allah Almighty guide you, direct your steps, benefit you, and make you firm on His straight path.
And may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon the bestowed mercy and the bestowed grace our master Muhammad, and upon his guided, pious family and companions.
